Warm up this Winter by taking an Encaustic Painting Class using natural beeswax as your painting medium.

Graham brings her years of experience and natural teaching abilities to Artisans-at-Work once more! Enjoy the amazing selection of materials she brings for this Mixed Media Encaustic Painting Class – all materials are included (amber and white beeswax, oil paints, wood panels, papers, collage materials, Xerox images for transfers, tools, brushes and more).


Participants will explore painting with natural beeswax and pigments. Learn how to make timeless encaustic wax art pieces with techniques like sgraffito, painting, collage and image transfers. 


Classes are limited to small sizes so students will enjoy one-on-one instruction and individual help throughout the workshop. For beginners and continuing students.

This is a great class for beginners to intermediate, and excellent for beginners to oils! Julie is a wonderful teacher of technical painting skills! Even if you already paint, you will find her series of lessons encouraging and interesting.
Painting in a group is inspiring, and so motivating.
Its safer to paint in packs!




Wax Carving for Lost Wax Casting: Miniature Sculpures & Jewellery with Tara Shelton


Any time (scheduled between 2pm-9:30pm) any Wednesday

$20/hr including nearly all materials(casting charges,metal costs, gemstones not included)


This class is limited to 2 students at any one time.  Bring a dream project, and we will work towards that goal, and the techniques needed to get there.


Alternatively, you can start from scratch and learn all the carving skills you will ever need to accomplish many types of projects of your own in the future.


This class is suitable for beginner and intermediate levels, wanting to produce their own sculpture or jewellery, whether it is sculptural or complicated with structural elements.  Casting can be in any metal: silver, gold, brass, (at extra cost to students).


A variety of skills will be taught, from design, rendering, using & care of the tools, measuring, filing to completion of your project.

The Basics of Drawing

Come Wednesday afternoons for a two hour drawing class. Weekly lessons will benefit the complete beginner and at the same time encourage those who have some experience. This class is an opportunity to explore the world of drawing from natural subject matter in a warm and leisurely atmosphere.
