Childrens' Art Tasting Class

with Jana Lounoba

for ages 6 to 15

10 classes: 5pm to 7pm $430 including all materials

5 classes: $215 (first or last set of 5 classes)

Tuesdays starting October 14th to December 16th

Wednesdays starting October 15th to December 17th

Jana is a childhood educator with an amazing backgroung in the arts. She is kind, patient, creative and overwhelmingly inspired. She brings over 20 years of teaching young hearts & minds a variety of visual arts. Any adult will be green with envy of the beautiful paintings and works that the children will take home each night. Jana serves them tea and cookies for a short break, which allows them to assess their progress and to discuss with each other.

Artisans At Work is proud and excited to bring such a high calibre of class to children, and to share our space with Jana, who will occupy our new "Little Arts School" within our gallery.

Some examples of the classes in this 10 week series: Watercolour painting, Acrylic painting, Lino cutting & Printing, Painting on foil, Charcoal drawing, Oil pastel drawing, Mixed media, Papier Mache, Sculpture with plastecine, Scratch away painting, and more!

Basic Drawing With Jessica Caissie
In this 8 week class I will be teaching the very basics of traditional drawing that help to build a strong basis for all other forms of art. Students will learn how to translate what they see around them into paper, skills on how to draw realistically and how to use different types of dry media.

Dias de los Muertos: Learn to make an Altar for a deceased loved one

We are proud to be partnering with students from Withrow Park School this year to commemorate loved ones, and the significance of the Monarch butterfly!

Students will be working on this fantastic window installation and also their own altar offerings.

We are also partnering with David Suzuki Foundation & Papiliorama of Switzerland. www.papiliorama.ch

Mexico Board of Tourism will also be hosting this event, and donating important components to this important event.

Come and see if your family would like to participate in our Community Window Installation to honour our passed family members & loved ones.

Finished by October 30th, this will be an annual special event.

Our front window will be covered for the week before unveiling on Dias de Los Muertos, Saturday Nov 1 & Sunday Nov 2.

Learn the art of burning designs and scenes into a wood surface. Panels, boxes & other wood objects.

Wax Carving for Lost Wax Casting: Miniature Sculpures & Jewellery with Tara Shelton

Any time (scheduled between 2pm-9:30pm) any Wednesday

$20/hr including nearly all materials(casting charges,metal costs, gemstones not included)

This class is limited to 2 students at any one time.  Bring a dream project, and we will work towards that goal, and the techniques needed to get there.

Alternatively, you can start from scratch and learn all the carving skills you will ever need to accomplish many types of projects of your own in the future.

This class is suitable for beginner and intermediate levels, wanting to produce their own sculpture or jewellery, whether it is sculptural or complicated with structural elements.  Casting can be in any metal: silver, gold, brass, (at extra cost to students).

A variety of skills will be taught, from design, rendering, using & care of the tools, measuring, filing to completion of your project.
