AAW First Fridays

The opening reception of each month-long art exhibition takes place each first Friday of the month...

we call it First Fridays!

 

Exhibiting artists bring an appetiser to share and connect over with guests, 

Live music & a Licensed Bar!

December 2015
Holiday Art Sale

Small, affordable art is the way to go!

Enter as many pieces you think the public will love to gift to each other.
No entry fee, 50% of sales
The show runs from Thursday Nov 26 until Dec 24. 
Pick up for work is after the holiday season, on January 5th-7th, by 6pm. 
There is an opening reception on First Friday Dec 4th 7:30-10:30pm with licensed bar and live music.
To be accepted, send pictures of pieces you would like to sell, with dimensions and price to us, as attachments in an email.
If accepted, delivery is on or before Thursday Nov 26th by 2pm.

Our large gallery is also where Christmas craft vendors will also set up their tables, selling handmade products, on weekends in December.
$75/day. A busy place for sure!

Inspired by Animals

How many of us are inspired by animals?
Do you have more respect for them than for most humans? Does their innocent beauty fill you with compassion and awe?
January's theme is just that.

A Family Art Affair

Art that runs in the family is what our show is all about. Its a lovely way to show a talent passed on whether by nature or nurture! 
Any medium, any relation. Up to 2 pieces to each family member is allowed.
All works must be for sale.
$45 per group entry fee.
30% of works sold.
The show runs from Feb 5th until Feb 26th. 
There is an opening reception on First Friday Feb5th 7:30-10:30pm with licensed bar and live music.

October: Politics: Past Present & Future. Art as Political Statements.

Our musical wunderboys, The Sidewalkers will be playing all their protest folk songs on First Friday!

“Pop” Art! We ask artists to submit what they feel represents dad, fathers, or Father’s Day.

Mission Statement

             

We at Artisans At Work strive to provide a cultural hub for Toronto’s east end. We wish to provide engaging programming that explores multiple facets of contemporary life through art, craft and music. Founded in December 2012, we are an up and coming destination for art and culture in Toronto.

November:  Open  Call to  all  artists   out there!

 

Email your pics (for a quick and dirty, extra light jury process), and have them delivered no later than Friday Nov 6, at 3pm.


No submission fees. 5 pieces per artist. Only 30% of any sales. 


There is no theme, but if there WERE a theme, it would be:

"Guy Fawkes: Prankster or Accident Prone Klutz?  Remember Remember, the 5th of November!"


We can raise a flaming glass to that Guy. 

 

Usually, we make a little effigy and roast it. If you bring an effigy of a recent Prime Minister, you win a special prize!
